Nibless in Seattle

I decided to ditch Interface Builder in my iPhone app “MyWallet+” (aka “Mina Utgifter”).
That proved to be quite a hassle.

At first I just rewrote all code where “initWithNib” was used. I recompiled and got the most hallocinogenic effects Ive seen on an iPhone. And on top of that, the error did only show on iOS4.

After banging my head to wall for an hour or so, I Google found out that its not sufficient to only implement the “viewDidLoad” method. You need to provide “loadView” or else ViewController goes berserk and assumes alot of stuff.

All in all, Im never using Interface Builder again. It hides not only complexity, but freedom and creativity.
